Highly recommended. Don’t get confused with the other shop in front. This stall is run by an elderly man and his wife. One plate of char hor fun only costs RM5.

An excellent Cantonese version of Char Hor Fun will full bodied wok hei. One will find it hard to complain when the next best is at Tanjung Bungah in the mornings. The old couple CHAN dishes out their Canton masterpiece at RM6. Not so well done is the Hokkien Char, for that the stall is at Nam Kie on Kimberley Street in the morning. Also the younger middle-aged apprentice did not cook the dish well.

Delightful Cantonese style fried noodles by the Chan octagenarian couple, now tucked away from the main Chulia Street, along Lebuh Carnavon towards a corner junction. The stall is unmistakably flanked on both sides by round tables for the regulars. The Char Hor Fun (RM5) is exquisitely done with plenty of wok hei, as good as the Tanjung Bungah morning version. The Hokkien Char however lacks the noodle softness delivered by the Hainanese chef at Nam Kie on Kimberley Street and may disappoint a true noodle connoisseur. This culinary art is fast disappearing due to the absence of any heir apparent and already lost in the popular KL stalls.
