โ โ โ โ โ Been some 2 years since I last dropped by Coliseum PJ for a meal.
This time round with a total of 5 pax from our family, we came over for a dinner of lamp chops and steaks.
Together with a bottle of red wine and 2 desserts, the bill came just below MYR 600 for the 5 of us.
Food is nice as before, the wine was good and the laughter and conversation lively.
Coliseum PJ, located on the corner ground level of Jaya 33 shopping centre, retains the charm of its original outlet next to Coliseum KL.
While the staff were attentive, polite and helpful, without being obtrusive, nevertheless I somehow felt that the nostalgia of the 50's and 60's when the original cafe was around, somewhat missing.
I'm not sure why? Maybe it's the loss of the old Chinese staff in their white starched shirts and black jackets, having been replaced by probably foreign Indian and Bangladeshi wait staff (I am unclear of their origin) or the missing white colonial masters with their cigars and wine.
However, all said and done, Coliseum Cafe PJ is still a great place to be and a great choice for those craving their lamb and beef steaks.

โ โ โ โ โ Back home visiting and was reminiscing about eating at Coliseum as a kid. The sizzling experience was out of this world when I was a kid. Had it only once so I canโt recall the taste for comparison. The steak used to look much larger when youโre a tinier person.
We went there on a Sunday after Christmas. My brother, sis-in-law, sister, and I treated ourselves to sizzling rib eyes (with garlic sauce and also mushroom sauce), sizzling lamb chop, onion soup, mushroom soup, cappuccino, and Hainanese iced coffee. The Hainanese iced coffee taste great (perfect sweetness and depth). The soup came in perfect temperature and tasted good. The lamb chop was much to be desired because it was very sinewy and bony. We ordered the rib eye steak medium rare. Honestly the best way to order when served on a sizzling platter as the meat continues to cook. That sizzle! Still awesomeโฆ except that itโs not served by an old man walking slowly to our table and sizzle almost gone (funny memories). This recent trip, the wait staff were great! Efficient, friendly, and attentive. We even got a nice picture taken by the server.
Will I return for a steak again? Maybe? Any visit will be for old time sake as there are far more choices for steak these days.

Personally want to convey this compliment so the waiter name โSebastianโ. He is the best waiter there. He is very attentive and humble. He should get a raise in his salary or promoted.

โ โ โ โ โ My first at this location. Been to other outlet before this. Served by a very good staff, I didnt get his name, but he was very good and polite ( Full mark for him).
Ordered Grilled Salmon, Sizzling Lamb, Oxtail Soup, Mushroom Soup and Banana Fritters. Everything was great, but I loved tge Oxtail Soup (Excellent)!
Would come again!

โ โ โ โ โ It's my first time coming to this outlet as I've been to the original shop in kl. I guess despite this crowded area parking is still possible but probably better if u come earlier. I walked in without a reservation & the place was packed. They still manage to spot a table for us though although abit in a corner which was fine. Restaurant was clean and no frills. We were promptly served by Shahid who was an excellent server. The 5 star here is mainly due to his service. He made appropriate suggestions, managed to get the food quickly, always topped up our bottomless cups without prompting and was generally on top of everything. It's been quite some time since I had first class service from a restaurant of this stature. I usually would get this only at a 5star hotel or at some fine dining joint. Kudos to Shahid and the management team for training the staff to such a level. The food is good as well. Prices are above average but the overall experience was amazing. Keep up the standards!

โ โ โ โ โ The best service experience ever! We had a booking for 8 and I came earlier alone with the cake. The server Shadaq immediately took the cake from my hand to the fridge, served us water immediately, volunteered to help us to take photos and served the cake with plating and birthday songs.
The food and environment was pleasant. Will definitely visit again!
