Flemington Hotel

Horrible and terrible! Room smelly, bed sheet dirty, no maintenance well and looks like no doing any cleaning at all. The worst is power outage in midnight for few hours, and complaint to reception but they keep saying they also dont know what happened, wait for TNB bla bla bla. They just let guest sleep without aircond, and sweat. Paid hundred dollar and get such of service and attribute. Car park always full house, you need to park at opposite car park beside the lake. Strongly not recommended ? Think twice.

Came for Chinese New year Dinner. Food too salty and some meat items a tad smelly. We thought we were overcharged but they talked us out of it and we didn't want to stay any longer. The only plus point is vicinity to the lake garden but you have this feeling that they just can't be bothered to serve you well or cook a good dish. Will not come again. Unfortunately there aren't that many options in this small town.

A decent place to stay. The room was adequate but there is an issue with my room last time and it took the hotel around 2-3 hours to resolve the issue (air-conditioner cannot be controlled by the remote control, and the lower window cannot be closed (a hazard for parents)). The staff that attended to the issue was kind and professional. One of them I believe is slightly different mentally and hats off to the hotel for their hiring policy Parking is limited and will be easily packed especially during weekends. The breakfast spread was average for the price. The view from the rooftop that houses the bar and the hotel pool was amazing. Can definitely get a good view of the taman tasik and the scenic hills of Taiping.

Room was spacious and clean. Breakfast selection varies. However, the toilet got funky smell. Even the towel (on 1st day) smells. Overall, the hotel is okay. Taiping Lake Garden is in walking distance.

Staff are courteous, except for maybe one security attendant. No problems with bedsheets or shower heads. But the towel has a lingering damp smell - like the dryer wasn’t dry enough and it was brought to storage. Note that basement parking is limited - you’ll likely have to park at the hotel’s open air carpark 2 blocks away.

We booked two rooms in this hotel for two nights. We had one room with a queen bed and another with two single beds. Rooms are pretty run down but reasonably clean. The bathrooms had no functional toilet roll holders or soap dishes. When we went for a swim there were no available towels. We went down to ask for some, was told some would be sent up but none came by the time we finished our swim. Most staff don't seem in a hurry to help the guests or apologetic when told about shortcomings. We asked for an extra bed for one of the rooms. It was left outside the room and we had to set it up ourselves. When we pushed aside one of the single beds to make room for the extra bed, we found (thankfully unused) diapers under it, along with some rubbish and lots of dust. The complimentary breakfast had a decent range of food but the baked beans were a weird dark brownish colour and tasted odd. Staff at the coffee house were friendly, though. Our key cards stopped working after the first day of our stay and we had to go down to the front desk numerous times to get them working again during our three day stay. Considering the amount of rain Taiping gets, the hotel should also provide more sheltered parking for guests since there were very limited spaces in the basement parking, or make better arrangements for the outdoor parking. We had chosen this hotel because of the lovely location beside the Lake Gardens. Unfortunately they would have to do much better to make it a place I would ever stay in again. Much more effort needed on the part of management and staff. I understand the pandemic has been hard on the hospitality industry but I'm sure they could do better of they tried.

The room is not as spacious. The bolt and chain lock set to the door does not work. Too short a chain. Have to ask for the toiletries. Toilet bowl pump doesn't work. After a flush, water doesn't stop running. Set a/c to 20 degrees C., but it's not cooling. Probably need servicing. All in all, have to make do. Hotels in town were fully booked for the weekend stay.

Excellent view of Taiping Lake on level 4 room. Looks like a hotel of 40 years ago design. Though it's old, it's reasonably well managed. Reasonably clean. Staff helpful, friendly n efficient. American Buffet breakfast is considered good by 3-star hotel standard.
