Nice scenic rest area for hikers and cyclers. The sunrise view is awesome as it comes with cooling breeze. This is a good spot to rest after about 20 minutes hike from the foothill. The orchard owner would sell Durian at this place during the season. They would offer to deliver to the durian to the foothill so that you could continue with your hike or ride. There is also restroom here.

The gentle slope and concrete paved path ensures a pleasant hike up the hill in the early morning. The whole route was shady except for one patch next to a vegetable farm quite close to the middle station. I highly recommend this trail compared to the other which consist of steps, which are not so comfortable on the knees.

Ahrr, have not been up that way for a year plus now. Hye Keat n Bat Cave trails start at different places but converge about 20 minutes into the hike. From that point on, the trail meanders upwards until you reach a Chinese temple 15-20 minutes later. Cyclists would stop here for a breather n absorb the cooler fresh air. There is also a toilet maintained by the local residents. The breathtaking view of the Air Itam valley sits below. Hye Keat trail starts near to Hye Keat estate. It passes through old houses n narrows into a concrete path (3ft wide) passable to motorcycles, cyclists n hikers. The Bat Cave trails starts from the Bat Cave temple. You will pass a small waterfall as the narrow trail snakes uphill. From then on, the trail gets steeper as it negotiates the durian orchards of individuals. No taking of durians is allowed. After the Chinese temple, hikers will take another 10 minutes to reach the middle station. The view from middle station is breathtaking. You can sit down n just take in the view for ten minutes.
