Only order yuet kong hor, chicken feet and baby octopus!!!! As this 3 dishes are the best. Others are below average. Their hokkien mee/mee hoon and wat tan hor is very lousy. Service is excellent!

The second of my 2 must eats when in Ipoh is a visit to Tuck Kee. My thoughts… 1) There is a branch in Damansara Uptown that’s frankly a poor copy of the original. There is also a Tuck Kee Son (naturally run by the son) in Singapore that offers quite tasty food but the taste of their famous “Yit Kong Hor” (Moonlight Rice Noodles) is a little different. Think it’s down to the sauces used. 2) So Tuck Kee in Ipoh is still a pretty unique taste experience. Many rave and come for their “Yit Kong Hor” which is Hokkien style fried rice noodles topped with a raw egg. Hokkien style means the use of dark soy sauce and the topped egg when mixed into the noodles gives it a lovely creamy texture. (The yellow egg yolk juxtaposed against the dark noodles background is the reason for the moonlight moniker). Unfortunately, I personally think this dish is over rated. It’s good but somewhat boring. 3) Noodles wise, I prefer the “Yin Yong”. Cantonese fried noodles with a crispy fried vermicelli paired with wok singed rice noodles. The noodles are topped with an egg based sauce. No dark soy with Cantonese style cooking. Tuck Kee’s version is so very yummy. 4) My favourite dish is the blanched baby octopus in a superior light soy sauce. Delightful with or without the accompanying chili sauce. It’s the soy based sauce that once again provides the magic (as per Onn Kee’s Chicken). Could eat this every week! ❤️? Overall, I’m still a big fan of the original Tuck Kee restaurant in Ipoh. Good stuff! ? @whiskydev

First time come this famous restaurant. Maybe after CNY, not so crowded. We order baby octopus, bean sprout, war tan hor fun, yu Kong hor, hokkien fried mee hon. We like the foods, the fried all with strong wok hei, delicious. I like the war tan hor fun better than yu kong hor. Very recommended come for dinner or supper.

Ordered a feast for 6 at the Ipoh Tuck Kee! We got the War Tan Hor Fan, Yu Kong Hor, Cantonese Fried Yin-Yong, Hokkien Fried Mee Hoon, fried chicken wings, braised beancurd, large plate beansprout, cuttlefish meatballs. Would love to order the baby octopus in soy sauce but it’s not available. The beansprouts are crunchy and tasty. Love all the noodles and the fish noodles are very springy. It’s fishball paste made into thick udon thickness “noodles”, bouncy and tasty. Chicken wings are marinated with nan-ru (fermented beancurd) flavour. Very crunchy and delicious. This is a meal I would dream of when I’m away from Ipoh. If you don’t like techno or dance music, choose the seats outside

Being one of the local's gem, this is still the famous one to go to when it come to Wat Tan Hor, and Yuet Kong Hor. While of course the queue is crazy we started off by ordering Fried Chicken Wing which is well flavoured and very crunchy(not for those with weak tooth). The beansprouts were okay, stil considered as crunchy n properly served in soy sauce, oil n pepper. You may order their balanced squid while waiting for the main meal as it would take some time. As for their Wat Tan Hor, it is well cooked with strong wok Hei and the steamy gravy were well flavoured n rich with ingredients. The Yuet Kong Hor or the Stir Fried Thick rice noodle served with egg were very smooth indeed, just mixed it up upon served to blend everything together for a smooth, creamy n silky texture of fried thick noodle.

Used to frequent this place before pandemic. This time, was not impressed with their signature dish, wat tan hor. Remembered it to pack lots of yit hei but not this round. It felt like the hor fun was pre-fried in large batch and kept aside to be used when there's an order for it and not individually fried. The meat ball is still good. Ordered some pak cham kei (chicken) from Onn Kee.

Came here on a Sunday evening around 7pm. Queued for 40 minutes and it wasn't too bad as the weather was good. No regrets! The food was excellent. Beansprouts were crunchy and succulent. Noodles were Q and the moonlight hor fun *chefs kiss* Octopus was fresh too, which was a pleasant surprise. The cuttlefish ball was nice too. We liked the herbal tea so much that we ordered 2 cups of it. Complemented the oily food. Will definitely return when I drop by ipoh again. Price for 2 pax: Rm50

If you visit here, 3 dishes are the MUST ordered. 月光河、炒河粉、清蒸八爪鱼 The queue is never end, I have waited for 20 mins for it which is considered fastest in less peak hour. Peak hours do expect wait even longer. As for price, I think it worth the price ☺️ yummy.
