We normally go to Ong Kee for tauge ayam (beansprout chicken) but since it was closed we visited Lou Wong across the road. Compared to Ong Kee, we prefer Ong Kee's chicken. Lou Wong's chicken is average but their bean sprouts are plump and juicy and fish balls are nice. Lou Wong is non-aircon, which can make for a hot and humid eating experience. Cash only payment. Parking in that area is difficult. Best to park further away and walk.

The chicken (steamed and roasted) were great. Remaining dishes were alright. Famous spot to have ipoh chicken rice.

The place is probably the most famous beansprout chicken rice seller in Ipoh, or even Malaysia. Their beansprout does taste nice, but their chicken is just mediocre. The place seems to be a little unhygienic also. Not too worth a visit.

Famous chicken rice shop always crowed. Very busy when arrived at 11am during a public holiday. A sign to indicate the waiting line. The staff have attitude that if you want to eat do wait if not you can leave, perhaps this can be change in the future. Overhead an argument from customer that can't order take away when you already settled your bill. Do check when you plan to eat in and order take away.

It was so crowded and was raining heavily that day. All tables are occupied and unfriendly staff shuffling you here and there. We eventually decided to pack back. Verdict. The chicken and the bean sprouts are yummy. The soup is little too sweet for some reasons. The oblong looking meat ball had some tough bits in it and not sure what was it but it almost cracked my teeth.. but generally it's tasty and if you travel to Ipoh, why not just try.

Tried the infamous Chicken and Bean Sprouts. I would say I wasn't very amazed by the chicken. But the Bean sprouts was really very fat and juicy. And the meat ball soup was also very good. Is a must try for the meat ball soup. A pleasant experience overall.

Did not want to patronise this shop actually but my friends already had a table before I arrive. Order half poached chicken and half roast chicken, meat balls, beans sprouts, oysters sauce vegetables, 3 rices and a noodles. Both Chicken are acceptable. Vegetable is normal so does the balls. But the bean sprouts are good, that’s the specialty in Perak. RM99 is way above average.
