The duck meat is juicy, crispy and the sour vege soup is awesome. Must try when in Ipoh!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Visited for lunch and went for the grand platter (bbq pork, char siu, roast duck), bbq pork had crispy crackling and juicy meat, char siu with well balanced marinade and juicy meat. And yet the duck was above all the juiciest meat you can imagine with the lovely, crispy skin you long for. I tried many roast ducks in many countries but this was without doubt the best roast duck I ever got to enjoy. Will have to be back for seconds before I leave Ipoh ??

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice and clean dining space. Quick service and friendly staff. The roasted duck is good compliment well with the flavourful hainanese rice. The roasted pork has crispy skin. The chai boey is so so to us, kinda not umph enough (lack of spicyness)?

It has the tong and qui taste, very delicious and the skin was crispy.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The place is so nondescript is easy to just walk past. But no regrets walking in. At the flagship store, the food is traditional roasted chicken & duck; and there’s also their version of the sour vegetables which is clear and light-not too overpowering. In some places the sour vege dish makes your face twitch, but this place it’s mild enough to drink the soup without rice. I liked it but again, yummy-ness is in the tongue of the beholder.
The herbal drinks come in large jars, without sugar. If you wanna get that sugar high, you need to specifically ask them for it.
Reasonably priced, it’s a place you can go back to again and again

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Worst restaurant ever to eat roast duck and spicy and sour soup which were the signature dishes of the restaurant. The duck was stinky. The spicy and sour soup was rather plain in terms of flavour. I am disappointed.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The signature roast duck at Restoran SYW is good. The duck is juicy and has a nice fragrant herbal taste. The char siew and roast pork was average though. We also ordered the sour & spicy vegetable which was also good. There’s a variety of other side dishes but I would recommend you try their roast duck. Will come back again to try their peipa roast duck next time.
