★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ordered the toki course to celebrate a special occasion with a friend. First, when I booked over the phone I got the response of ‘Oh just the normal set only....’ from the waitress. Please check your training because this is not how a proper 5 star restaurant should speak to a guest.
Once at the restaurant, took forever to get the attention of servers. The amuse bouche was a let down (three options looked and tasted like typical banchan dishes that you can get at any Korean bbq place). The fish, as always, excellent, keeps on with the Kampachi quality. After the vinegar Ed dish, they took such a long time to serve the sushi dish. Sushi was a disappointment as well (felt like something was missing in the rice but the fish itself was great). Dessert was really bad that they had to replace with ice cream. Suggestion: maybe take off the Yubari fr this course and just serve ice cream.
We also asked for a cocktail recommendation and was really shocked to be told that their best cocktail is the Highball. Really? I can serve up a mean highball at home!
Lots to improve, what with so many omakase options in town.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A la carte Japanese buffet in the heart of KL. The food served was fresh, there were plenty of choices available but the service was unfortunately pretty slow. We had to remind the waiters about our food order multiple times which dampened the dining experience for us.

First time trying their brunch buffet...
Price: Value for money $
Food: Taste and quality are good but the presentation not really. Since this is a buffet, don’t expect much on the presentation
Service: Very good service except they keep mixing up my orders and my dorayaki never arrived although I asked the waiters a few times already. (-1 star here, cause I really want my dorayaki?)
Crowd: Not very packed but yes, there’s crowd
Will I return?
Yes, of course but maybe not for the buffet... But the buffet is still value for money though

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ As it’s located at a hotel, menu here is significantly on the higher range as compared with other Kampachi branches. Came here for their à-la-carte dinner. Be sure to try their Ishiyaki Kaisen Meshi and Abekawa Mochi! My mates and I were well taken care by Aian on our visit, please keep it up!

However, being a Sunday dinner, lack of attention to customer need even when you noticed today was not packed at all with customer.
In my opinion, service in Kampachi Pavillion much much better than Kampachi EQ.
Please buck up Kampachi EQ.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Thanks to the team of Kampachi, EQ for making a memorable birthday dinner. Omakase was excellent. Variety choices of menu. Sashimi Moriawase really fresh & with good quality with the sashimi almost melt in your mouth. Beef tenderloin was cooked perfectly as ordered (medium) but sadly the beef sirloin was not up to par as it was too well done when we requested for medium. However, the level of service & friendliness of the staffs compensated for this shortfall. Will definitely come again.

I had try other branch of Kampachi, but 1st time at EQ, is totally different from others, especially the service and the quality, freshness of raw fish, superb good. Thanks for senior restaurant manager Safura friendly service and the complementary mochi ?
May be just open for dine in and my last visit fall under weekday, not crowded at all.

The sashimi selection very limited but fresh : salmon, amberjack, snapper, swuid, octopus, Tuna
Tempura the prawn is over cooked & a bit dry.
Sukiyaki, was ok.
Roast beef was mediocre
Chawan Mushi pretty good.
Among all, the dessert stood out as the best. Mochi & black sesame ice cream ??
Ocha/ green tea —- not inclusive under the buffet set.
Overall, the varieties & food not as good as before.
Good service, ambience very relaxing & well spaced out between tables
