Curry mee was surprisingly good. Coconut milk was strong and curry soup was prepared perfectly. Ingredients was generous, with taupok, cockles and chicken. 4 stars

The octagenarian uncle still man's his turf in front of the coffeeshop offering Penang style wantan Mee and beef brisket noodles. His signature beef brisket is marinated in red fermented bean curd and is still tinged from the red yeast rice in its gravy, tasting close to Hakka Char Yuk, yet with a punchy gingery base of shallots. It's a tasty version of its Hong Kong namesake Ngau Lam Mein, but distinctive in its own way. A generous serving at RM8. Next to him is another old cook serving Curry Mee with familiar pig blood and cockles, but substituting prawns with shredded chicken makes this broth unfamiliar. The chilly paste was also not cooked to give a fragrant oil and the missing peppermint made this bowl (RM5) a perfect storm of ignorance. How mediocre can co-exist comfortably on this street of excellence is baffling, other than the support of tourists with less discerning taste. Hence, the kopitiam offers a diluted herbal Harku Chow drink at RM1.80.

Came here for wonderful lobak and prawn fritters .. one of the best you can find in Penang and is all related with the stall in Jalan Sri Bahari a short walk up on Penang Road.

Love the wanton Mee here and the thick almond milk drink. Perfect combo for breakfast. Noddle has crunchy texture, soaked up all the umami sauce and lard, so shiok! Located 2 doors down from Hon Kei. Worth a visit.

Their coffee and wanton noodles are superb. Fried noodles dishing out their wok-hei delicious noodles in express mode and wonderful service. The beef noodles is good too but a bit expensive.

Found this old shop while walking around the town. I tried the coffee, curry mee, wantan mee and lobak. The food here is average for me, and I like the wantan filling with prawn. For drinks, I ordered Kopi O Peng (Black coffee) and Kopi (Hot coffee). Personally, I preferred Kopi as Kopi O Peng tastes a bit sour, and also observed that most of the patrons are ordering Kopi Peng which looks more attractive.
