On the table today is Ais Batu Campur also known to Malaysians as ABC (RM6). This is a favorite of PJ-ians and have evolved into a bigger space. ABC comes with roasted peanuts, cendol, jelly, corn, red beans and cincau on shaved ice. This is swimming in coconut milk and drenched with roasted palm sugar. I felt the cendol or green rice flour jelly was on point. You know when cendol is not on point, it becomes hard with shaved ice. Kwong Wah's version maintains it's texture throughout. The peanuts roasted a bit too much, so there is bitterness to the crunch. You either hate it or love it. At one point, I felt the bitterness too much that it over powered everything else. The other condiments were ok. The coconut milk is not heavy but light which is what you want in either cendol or ABC. The defining feature is the roasted palm sugar or gula Melaka. This is make or break. I found their gula Melaka too toasty, it was either this or the peanuts that had the overpowering bitterness. I'm ok with this but if you are expecting Tau Fu fa type of intense sweetness, you will be disappointed. To me this is what defines kwong wah and judging from the crowd, many like it as well. Lastly, I feel that there the value is in the handmade condiments and not size. So to each, his/her own. Parking is hard at this area, packing will incur RM1 charge for the box. There is a limit to the time that you can spend dining in. Queuing is a must and sitting is for full parties. *NOTE* This is not a paid post; the written content is based on author's personal opinion and preference. Came here on weekends and it was really crowded. Need to queue for around 10 minutes but it was OK because someone is taking care of the queue. I wouldn't mind queuing as long as it is systematic. Ordered the mini Asam Laksa, Cendol and Iced Bubur Cha Cha. The mini Asam Laksa was really mini. Tasted good though. Suitable if you wanna eat for fun. Cendol was OK but not great. Somehow, the taste are not blended well together. Iced Bubur Cha Cha was OK too. Staffs were friendly. Prices were affordable. TnG eWallet accepted here.

A busy crowded place for local delicacies, enjoy the yummy ice kacang , cendol and assam Laksa. Just that sometimes get annoyed by the girl who worked there and caused confusion of getting table first or queue to order first then moved me from 1 table to another table.

Manager was rude and unhelpful. They should put a signage up about their ordering system between takeaway and dining in as it was confusing. Despite that, I would say that it’s very much OVERRATED and pricey for the quality you’re getting. The desserts and place were all style but no substance. You’re way better off at SS15’s cendol, fuss free and actual good taste. Not much gula melaka taste and seems watered down, cant comment on the other items though.

We had our brunch at Kwong Wah today and the chendol was tasty, one of the good ones in town with a generous amount of red bean and green chendol as well as shaved ice. Our main meals were the Nasi Lemak with a nice serving of ikan bilis sambal as well as fried meehoon and Assam Laksa. Their snacks were not too bad too, especially the Gula Melaka Coconut and Nyonya Kueh, even if the Cucur Udang is merely average for the price we paid (RM4.50). The restaurant itself sure is a far more spacious place than their old place in nearby Happy Mansion, with many tables to choose from as well as an overall pleasant environment. Not forgetting the cool rack with lots of Coca Coca bottles next to the toilet area which is an interesting one to check out. Even if Kwong Wah did keep a link to their past, with the old Chendol stall on display next to the takeaway area outside.

A nice experience at the new and hip Kwong Wah Ice Kacang cafe. They used to be located at the iconic 1970s apartment of Happy Mansion. Had Packet nasi lemak, their renowned Cendol doused in generous portions of Gula Melaka and red beans. Their mini Assam Laksa is also mouth-watering. Parking can be a hassle and there’s almost always… a queue. So be prepared to wait a bit.

Overall the food are above average. But the queue seems to be overated. Nearby actually had better cendol. You can find with Google map. Just give those food a try. For me is a good quick bite. Other than that you won't really crave for it next round

Chandol IK and buns were yummy nice. We’re served over-fried prawn fritters which tasted plain even with the chilly sauce (thought this was rubbish). Crowded and probably need to wait for a seat. Neighboring tables were too closed for comfort during this pandemic
