★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Taste is very subjective and not everyone will agree to my views, one man's food is another man's poison. Some might disagree with me but let's just agree to disagree sometimes :)
One of the worst Nyonya eatery or not Nyonya eatery?
I always believed Food standards in One Utama is always above average but i was wrong in this eatery. Located on a very strategic point in New Wing 1 Utama, its crowded when it comes lunch time.
Staff - When I first step in to the eatery, I was not greeted, understandable, maybe the staff had a bad day, 1st red flag. I asked if i can sit on 1 of the table extremely near to the POS System, Staff : busy keying in orders on the POS system. I asked the second time, Staff : yes yes. I proceeded to write my order in the paper and asked a staff who is keying in one order to take but to my surprise, the staff did not respond to me. After the staff is done with keying in an order, the staff did came to take my order, ok laaa. Little Nyonya Cuisine, you might want to train your staff.
Menu - I am guessing the person who planned the menu must be super ambitious as its not your conventional Nyonya eatery menu. I kid you not, this eatery tries to compete with many other eateries as they serves a little bit of Western, Hong Kee, Japanese & even Indonesian food! 2nd red flag.
I ordered Salmon Cheese baked Rice, Kapitan Curry Noodles, Pie Tee & Green Tea which total up to RM54.65. Looking at the price, its somewhat pricey, maybe the food is good.
Cheese baked rice - Its basically fried Rice topped with salmon and cheese and baked. For Cheese baked food, I would assume the food will be piping hot but it came out with the slightest warm. Taste wise, pretty mediocre and ok la, boleh makan. 3rd red flag.
Kapitan Curry Noodle - This dish wows you and its a must try for thick curry lovers! Good portion for RM15.90 too! Guess what, the dish came out heated unevenly, microwaved? 4th red flag. Taste good with the combination of the curry and noodles.
Pie Tee - i have never in my life tasted a Pie Tee that bad. You have taken the soul out of Pie Tee when the case of the Pie Tee is not crunchy! Taste wise mediocre. RM10.50 for 5 piece, considered ok. Its looked bad too with its presentation and the garnish like main campak saja with untoasted sesame seed. 5th red Flag. Even TCRS' Pie Tee is better than yours.
Green Tea - RM2.80 for a cup, pricey and I assumed you can refill but macam no, with the food experience bad, i did not even bother to wanna stay in this eatery.
Overall Experience:- Main dish came before snacks, food & service is not up to par. I wanted to eat hot food and not food that is slightly warmed. Overall bad experience.
Final Say:- This is my first and last time coming to this eatery. You wanna eat Nyonya food? There is few other better Nyonya eatery in 1U. 1 Star for your slightly warm Kapitan Curry Noodles. You might want to look at improving your food and service.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Self tasting is your only antidote to justify an immediate makeover. Your cooking is real bad at this moment.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The deep fried crispy squid (as per the title in their menu) and otak beancurd were awful! The squid was not crispy at all; it was soft and rubbery. They used frozen instant squid which did not taste like squid at all. It might be imitation after all and not squid at all. The photo in the menu is very misleading - it shows golden brown fried squid that has tentacle parts but in reality it was served as ring-shaped like cheap finger food. The price isn't cheap as it costs more than RM20. Furthermore, the worst part is the fried squid and beancurd reeked of strong burnt smell and the coating from the batter was very dark brown. This means they were fried using old oil that was repeatedly used for frying other things. Disgusting. You can compare the photo on their menu to the photo I took. Although the menu says photos are for illustration purposes only but this is such a rip off and they're cheating customers. When you're paying more than RM20 for a dish like this at an eatery like this you'd expect better. Even asked the waiter if this is how the squid is supposed to look like served, and he said yes. Not helpful at all. I would never return to this place again.
