โ โ โ โ โ Dinner there at 30th dec 2019. Confused with their name which another popular outlet also named menya.
Food was awful. The pork ramen is horrible. The texture of the noodles is just like the one u can get from any major supermarket.
The dumpling, which is rm 14, with 4 tiny pieces is much more costly then having a freshly made sush. The worst part, I can make a better dumpling.
Come on, dont confuse customers with the name of your outlet.

โ โ โ โ โ Menya Masamune apparently hails from Sendai and they started a shop here. When I saw the Google reviews a lot of them were destroying the place mercilessly and it is certainly sad because they hadn't figured out the proper algorithm to the ramen itself. They said they had proper training from the staff from Japan but upon closer investigation the main branch had recently dropped in quality as well (the comments on the original shop had been nasty, mostly by older patrons and Mainlanders.). Perhaps the underlying issue runs in the management and how things had been implemented by them due the the original managers not even having the standards at the first place.
Anyways, onto the soup, the noodles and soup could have a lot more improvement. The Chashu has not matured yet in soaking in the flavour and the noodles would have been a bit overcooked. I'm not sure about the onsen tamago since I haven't had it yet but both soup and noodles are not yet in perfect harmony as of current. The Chashu also will need improvement as well, and the staff was very helpful and they are open to criticism.
The karaage tomahawk is pretty good though but I think this store can redeem itself by implementing the aburasoba and the shoyu ramen as its main sellers. You should give it a go.
I think I'll go straight to the grading. It's a 5.5 to a 6/10 as my standards on ramen are a lot more stricter, but I believe in the menya itself and it could improve in the future if given the chance to improve. It could make a lot of progress and it could be great if you go there and give them your honest feedback on how to improve it

โ โ โ โ โ Horrible experience, the noodles is OVERCOOK worst than home cook ramen. The soup is so poorly make you can taste it do having msg inside. I'm order the large it doesn't deliver it just feel so small. Not advisable to visit this restaurant

โ โ โ โ โ Avoid this place like the plague! This had to be the worst ramen I've ever had, the Tonkotsu Ramen tasted nothing like bone broth, instead the soup tasted overwhelmingly of fat and bamboo shoots, the noodle was ok but doesn't taste like it's made in-house, the ajitama was way too salty. The Tori Kara Age Don was soaked in oil, in fact the chicken pieces were so oily that they were glistening. Not likely to come back ever!
