★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ordered saba shioyaki set, assorted tempura and yakitori. Saba shioyaki is tasty, cawan mushi is very nice, assorted tempura is nice too. However, needs to improve on seasoning and texture of yakitori. In general, food served is of good quality and fresh.

One of the quickest way to gauge a Japanese restaurant is to look at the quality of the menu item. Certain Japanese restaurants are just Sushi King level - ramen, soba, maki, curry katsu don. On the other hand, some restaurants serve dishes you know would require actual skill to prepare.
This restaurant belongs to the latter group.
I've tried this simple saba bento and their salmon aburi and it is enough to make me say itadakimasu.
Price is slightly above warakuya.
I have had the same dish for cheaper price elsewhere but those who knows, will know that you get what you paid for. You don't need an elaborate dish to justify the price.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Average shop. Kept it simple, ordered a sashimi moriawase and a tendon. ~100rm for 1 pax.
I enjoyed the tendon; sweet, light taste and a reasonable choice of ingredients, prawns were a little dry though. But not enough sauce for my preference.
Nothing special with the sashimi, salmon was salmon, shrimp were still in one piece that I have to scrape the guts off after removing the head. Shiro maguro is not tuna btw and moreover not the binnaga that shiro maguro is supposed to be; the shiro maguro here seems to be either escolar or oilfish.
Taste: ★★★☆☆
Price: ★★★☆☆
Value for money: ★★★☆☆
Service: ★★★☆☆

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice Japanese cuisine. Ramen gravy is very savory with superb melt in mouth chasiu. Sushi is fresh. The free seaweed salad is nice but slightly too sour.
Nice environment. Need to try their yakitori with soju next time.
