★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is hidden gem! Very clean authentic Japanese restaurant in a street quite remote/un-developed. What a pleasant surprise to find this place! Would definitely come back again!
The waitress was super helpful when we said we were in a rush and need to go in 30 min. She helped us to inform the chef and made sure we got the food quick!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I came here on purpose to check out the food quality. Hoping to find a decent Japanese outlet of standard and quality in JB. I'm solely disappointed. The selection here is passable at best, however most are misses. The saving grace here is the helpful waitress and authentic enough decorations. Looks like the Japanese restaurant inside the hotel along the street is still the only contender on the league of decent Japanese food in Jb.
Let's base my statement on facts. Okonoyaki Don is just pure failure for this restaurant. The eggs and chicken is bland and tasteless. No smell or taste of sauce on rice. The chef add straw mushrooms into it is totally unnecessary. The rice are a mixture of Japanese rice with Thai rice which is in fact not authentic at all. They did it to save cost.
This is the simplest dish to see the chef skill, yet they screw it.
Seafood fried rice has fish so over cook that taste like pork done badly.
Only passable dish that is not from process food is its ramen. Ramen soup is OK but not great. Cha siew is done right with grilling on the outside. Aji tama is so lame that the lazy chef did not bother to soak it overnight with the mirim and soya sauce mixture for its favour.

There are so many type of dishes in the menu, suchi as sushi, ramen, tempra, and so on. I had Karaage set.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Just stopped in on my way past. Had the signature ramen. Just the right amount of onions and the pork was a little tough. The broth was flavourful and had a nice balance of ginger taste with porkiness.
The ramen was decent for the price of $25++.
The staff was okay, could've been better.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a really nice place! The staff were very friendly and their service was excellent. Their Japanese food was authentic and tasted really delicious and their portion was good. The presentation of the food was really nice too. I like the seeing and deco of the restaurant. They also have some magazines and manga for you to read if you are interested. The price for the food was reasonable too.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Quite authentic Japanese cuisine. Lady boss is very friendly and accommodating. She provide super good hospitality. Constantly, refill our drinks although she’s running the floor all by herself. Highly recommend this little restaurant run by a husband and wife, for people who doesn’t mind waiting, as chef is working alone and wife is running the floor all by herself. Well done and keep it up!!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The ramen is decent. But do not eat seafood here. Our sashimi and grilled salmon belly have rotten fish taste. The salmon role is also questionable. The owner was nice enough to remove sashimi from bill upon being informed. Just stick with the ramen here!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My favorite part ramen all the time! They are a hidden gems in pelangi for Japanese food! Just love the soup base so much! Very flavorful and savoury just nice! The tamago is super good as well! Fluffy feeling just nice to eat for some light palate person! I did order the nan ban chicken. Won't too recommend for it because I would say there's others shop serve better! If you are really craving for the ramen it's real good here!They have four season ramen all is just good!
