β β β β β Worst dining experience ever among all the sushi zanmai weβve been to! We have always been the regular customers of Sushi zanmai, but I must say that I won't visit this restaurant again after today.
We chose to dine in at sushi zanmai because we see they have sop practise by leaving empty seat in between each seated customer, but we were very disappointed soon after the waiter in black uniform "ah wen" arranged a table(joint table seats instead of the booth seats)for us with families side by side and the distance seems like less than a table size, so we rejected and asked for the booth seats at the back of the restaurant while itβs still empty (only half of the restaurant occupied when we were there)but got rejected and was told that the seats are all reserved (no sign We doubt it of course), the only seats for us is the table he led us to. we didnt want to sit there simply because itβs so close to each other so we ask for the seats in front of the sushi bar(the only seats available and itβs not reserved when ask) But this waiter again try to reject us by warning us we had a stroller we canβt put it there but my husband quickly replied to him and said can put the stroller somewhere else without blocking the way, so without anymore things to pick on us the waiter just walk away with the scowl on his face.
After 15-20 min right after we placed order one of the the booth seats behind us became gf available, me and my husband thought we could change it there for easier food sharing purpose so I quickly ask the waiter ah wen again to switch to that booth seat but again was rejected by him because he said itβs reserved. What?? Again?? I got angry and the waiter continues and said itβs reserved by a malay family and ask me βhave you made your orders? If yes I canβt change seats for you, no canβt do. β Without any fappropriate tone or apology, he just walk away.
About an hour later, when we were about to leave, the waiter ah Wen sat a Chinese couple in the booth seat we wanted earlier on, which he claimed itβs reserved by a malay family. So when my husband pay at the counter, I question the waiter and guess what he said, he paused after I asked him then said βbecause we called the family and they canceled reservation so we just let other people take the seat. (Are you seriously thinking that people gonna believe your lies?) then he raised his tone and insisted to me that there was1 metre distance for the table he arranged for us.They did follow sop, didn't think there was any problem and finally came with apologies (but with sarcastic tone).I ask for his name and he googled his eyes at me with his finger pointing at his chest saying βyes itβs ah wenβ with his eyes staring at me seem like heβs telling me βgo ahead and complain meβ
This is the worst experience ever. Very rude waiter, we will never visit this store again.

β β β β β One of the best sushi chain restaurant that I've been to. Love their sushi with lots of varieties, choices of mini sukiya set and potato salad. They are good and would love to come here again for a quick Japanese meal.

β β β β β Sashimi is fresh and their salad is also my all time favourite. We usually go before 5.30pm to avoid the crowd.

β β β β β Basically, I am Sushi Zanmai's loyalty customer, however this outlet is the worst among all.
Their presentation was terrible. Look at the radish sided sashimi, they were so thick.
Sauces never refill.
Green tea was tasteless even after complaint.
Space and environment is comfortable though if compared with The Gardens.
