★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Food is ok, especially ramen and nanban chicken was my personal favorite, yet the lady boss(I suppose) who serve customers was rude, no greeting nor respond, or even a simple face expression when serving customer or taking orders. Not going back until the standard of customer service improved.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Atmosphere and environment needs to improved. There's no music in the restaurant and the lady boss (who serves as a waitress) was rude. Food wise I consider it mediocre standard, I ordered the karage chicken rice set, flesh was soft but it has little portion. As for the California Maki it looks boring and taste so-so. The cawanmushi was the worst, too sloppy and words can't describe the funny taste of the mushrooms & meat in it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The waitress is not properly trained. No greetings, no smiling face unlike usual Japanese restaurant which welcome their costumers with great hospitality! Points deducted for the service. Green tea is complimentary but the waitress didn't inform and didn't serve until u asked. However, the food is considered okay as the ingredients are quite fresh. Need to improve the service...

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The restaurant is run and cook by Japanese boss. The chef/boss dedicated 4 decades into f&b industry. Started in Singapore then moved to Johor Bahru since 1997.
We order set meal of beef rice and grilled fish set, another set meal of teriyaki chicken with salmon shasimi set. We also ordered fried chicken, cucumber hand roll, salt-cured preserved raw squid slice and tako yaki. All food were good and tasty. We noticed the salmon sashimi was very fresh, juicy and taste good.
The pricing was slightly higher if compare with nearby Japanese restaurant, as the ingredients used and the chef are different.
The chef is around 60 years old and we can tell he is seriously into cooking delicious food for all the customers. Please prepare to wait, as he is the only chef in kitchen, order through phone in advance if you can't wait too long.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The atmosphere is very Japanese local style, simple and no crazy renovations.
Food was not bad. I think better compare to most franchises Japanese restaurants. The ramen, gyoza all ok except the sushi, maybe the chef not specialize in raw food.
Price quite reasonable
As for the service... don’t expect much

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Looks like an authentic Japanese restaurant. The food and the price is reasonable and tasted OK.
I saw some reviews complain about the service, but personally I find it acceptable. The lady boss is just expressionless but she does what she need to do and definitely not a rude person.
The only complaint I have is the portion is a bit too much for me. Other than that, I am happy with it and would like to visit again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Authentic Japanese family restaurant. Chef has many years of experience cooking Japanese cuisine and had worked in Tokyo previously. Chef served fresh and thick cut of sashimi that value for money. I like the crispness and lightly salted taste of the tempura. It's also fresh and light. The bbq sting Ray goes well with my sake and I must say the sake is super affordable too. Will definitely come back for more! Oh btw, don't worry too much about the mild autistic ladyboss. She is only friendly to customers who are friendly to her :)
