Google reviews are very unreliable. I can vouch Tung Shin doctors are very honest and empathetic- by comparison. Problem is google only cares about high traffic. So, getting staff to write reviews about your own place is very common for instance CAH hospitals. Don't trust online reviews, ask your friends and family and social circle about this place, you will hear good things about Tung Shin. For every 95 good review 5 will be unhappy because insurance didn't clear, or cannot accept bad news. Unfortunately, these people are the loudest and will leave bad reviews. The good reviews, people too lazy to write.

We had a very bad experience in Tung Shin Hospital. On 25th April, our grandmother was hospitalised to Tung Shin Hospital to get the CT scan as the doctor from a clinic suspected that my grandmother was having stroke. The doctor that was assigned to my grandmother was Dr.Yap Boon Hung. We were expecting that this doctor would explain the CT scan result, causes, and possible treatments to us. However, we hear nothing from the doctor. The doctor only visited twice but he never explain a single question from us, the time that he stayed in my grandmother’s room was less than 1 minute and when my family members asked him questions, he ignored and walked away immediately. My family members need to chase after him in order to ask 1 question, which is to check on my grandmother’s blood pressure. The second time he visited my grandmother’s room was on 26th April, and his behaviour truly shocked us. He walked towards my grandmother’s, lifted her blanket up, pointed at her tummy and shouted “why did you feed her that good? Look at how fat she is! You shouldn’t feed her nicely!” while my grandmother was begging him to stop as she was feeling cold. Please, as a doctor you should have possess good ethics and right attitude. He walked away immediately after saying such ignorant comments on my grandmother’s body figure without explaining how serious my grandmother’s stroke was. On 27th April, we decided to discharge our grandmother and to send her to another hospital. After knowing our decision, this doctor, Dr. Yap Boon Hung rushed to our room and scold my family members. The words he said next then made our heart broken “If you have no money! Don’t come to Tung Shin!” Can you guys believe it? My family members secretly called us immediately and we heard every hurtful words that he said. We reached the hospital around 4pm and he was still there scolding my grandmother and my family members. My dad couldn’t bear his poor attitude any longer so he argued with him, requesting him to explain my grandmother’s CT scan. He said again “You all got no money then you are not allowed to come to Tung Shin!” To cut long story short, there are two things that we would like to complain: 1. As a patient, we have the right to know the result of the scan or check ups that we had in your hospital. In my grandmother’s case, she is suffering from stroke since 25th April and had her scan done on that day. Why did the Dr Yap Boon Hung explained nothing to us even though we requested him to? Why did he dragged our time for 3 days and charged us RM 220 first visit and RM 450 on follow up visit when he actually did nothing but to say high blood pressure only? (you can check your CCTV and observe how “long” did he visited my grandmother. 2. As a doctor, can you ever scold patient based on how she looks? She scolded my grandmother and said that she is fat. Dr Yap Boon Hung also shouted at my grandmother and my family “if you have no money don’t come to Tung Shin!” When we were just trying to get her discharged and transfer her to another hospital due to his poor attitude and lack of ethical behaviour? I hope this review can get a serious response from your company. There is no single patient should have received such treatment from any hospitals. We chose your hospital as your are famous on Chinese traditional treatment, but not your poor service, poor attitude, ignorance, and lack of ethics doctor. For those who are reading my review, if you would like to hear our bad experience from Dr. Yap Boon Hung, feel free to contact me, I can translate to Chinese, Malay or even Japanese for you.

Done my first dose of vaccination here last week. Staff are helpful and explained things well. The queue and the checking stations were well organized and orderly. In and out in less than 35mins with minimal other people waiting. I took Grab, very convenient as i was not aware regarding the car park situation on weekdays. I will be back for the 2nd dose at the end of the month. Overall five stars.

Still waiting for clearance to discharge since 11am.. I hope they don't use it as an excuse to charge extras for the room. The doctors are fine.. but not the facilities and staffs.. maybe tung shin is not paying enough for the staffs where others are.. Mainly new staff trainee. Lacking in good attitude, meaning seeing every patient as someones who needs their help. Not putting themselves as person with authority.. In my room one of the ceiling light not working and a doctor want to to draw blood from my arm, I told her not working. She question the nurse why no one call the maintenance. After 2 days, still no one cares.

One of the worst, or the only worst place to get your swab test at here, came at 9am, registration took you 30 mins, another 2-3 hrs waiting for them to prepare get your swab test done. This is a visit without appointment, BECAUSE the contact person or the PIC of their hospital said so when i requested for an appointment, they simply tell you “just walk in will do”, seriously? What’s the purpose of you having this appointment if you don’t allowed us to make an appointment ffs? Went to GENOME to take the swab test and iGM only took less than 10 minutes, needless to say they have WAYYYYY better system for you to book your appointment which also Tung Shin is horrible at. If it weren’t for the purpose of needed to have swab at 2 different results and places, wouldn’t have come here to waste your time. All of the people here waiting since 10am, just for the staffs to get “ready”, which took about 2 hours? Why so? HORRIBLE management by tung shin.

Expect long wait (crowds) if you're aren't early in the morning for registration. Need to adapt new appointment system perhaps by letting know your patient an exact time e.g. 10am than practicing first come first serves basis. A hospital that requires more levels and space in the future. Staffs were okay, but the management system lacks efficiency.

Overall having good experience at Tung Shin Hospital. - Waiting time: Quite fast and doctors are very efficient. - SOP Adherence: Great. Mysejahtera and contactless temperature measurement. - Cleanliness: clean and very organized. - Price/Charges: Reasonable. In my experience, it is cheaper than other western private hospitals in KL/PJ. - Parking: Very reasonable, if not mistaken RM2 for 2 hours. However, the parking area needs improvement. The open space parking ground are not even(certain area with even big potholes) and I myself got my car bottom scratched when I drove out, about to leave the hospital. Proper multilevel parking could be a better option. At least, the parking need to proper covered with tarmac as I can't imagine the condition during heavy pours. - Location: Strategically located in Jalan Pudu, easily accessible by car. Although no direct LRT/MRT to Tung Shin Hospital, public can still reach here with Grab after alighting from train.
