★ ★ ★ ★ ★ During my trp to Penang, Malaysia in the end of 2012, I visited many places, including the Clan Jetty which is few minute walking from Weld Quay (just take a free bus from Komtar to Weld Quay).
I went there with two foreign friends in the afternoon so the weather was so hot. The clan lives on the sea so you can imagine how sun expose itself so much in that area. the However, I ddn't mind of the weather because I got a worthy experience when exploring clan jetties in Penang Island . I took free CAT bus from Lebh Chulai where I stayed to Pangkalan Weld Quay where the bus ends. From the bus terminal, I just need to walk to the east for around 10 minutes and you will see the clan jetty. I was so lucky that some clan jetties invited me to their house so I could see their wood house and asked how they could make such house above sea water but it doesn't sink or collapsed. One of local said that the foundation is made from a special wood which is erected into the sea and since the clan jetties live in that area, the housings have had some renovations. Btw, the UNESCO has put the can jetties as the world heritage

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is the best place that I have stayed in the whole of Malaysia. When we arrived we were unsure of what to expect and were totally blown away when we arrived. We were allowed to check in around 9:30am which was great and the owner was really knowledgeable and friendly. The location is phenomenal, located at the end of one of the jetties looking over the water. The tide rises and falls underneath the property and we have been fishing off the veranda (caught a catfish). Inside their are multiple shower rooms and an open plan kitchen all finished to a really high equality and out room is lovely. Even the WiFi is fast and I just can't understand why it is as cheap as it is. This is a real undiscovered gem and I will definitely be back!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very nice place for travelers. It stands on the sea water. There are buildings on 7 different bridges just like this. House room is definitely cheap compared with the great view before the hotel and convenient location with many good snacks nearby. Toilets and shower room are shared but enough and clean. Tables on the lobby so you can easily meet with other travelers. The house manager is a very kind person. Anyway, it's a very worthy choice when you travel in Penang.
