★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We were recently in JB looking to buy Tao Sa Piah, when we bumped into a couple who asked if we've had the best roasted pork in JB. I of course said no, and as luck would have it, we were standing right across the road from it. Now the family's had lunch and were all quite full, but how does one turn down the best Sao Lar in town? Off we went and sat down to some post-lunch, pre-dinner tryout. It's definitely one of the Best Roasted Pork we've had in a long time, and we've had our fair share of great roast pork in and around town! This have way to more chicken rice, roasted duck, braised vegetables, and well....we left out inhibitions at the hotel! The meat was well-seasoned and that skin crackly crispy! Even the duck was crispy and juicy, but the coup de grace was the brasied vegetables, or mui Chye! It didn't have any of that salted Vege flavour, and the pork it was braised with melted in the mouth! It was great to say the least, but if it missed my 5-star rating, it's because I didn't think it matched the price for a JB roadside coffeeshop...
