My personal favourites are soup and tapai (fermented glutinous rice).The weekly night market gets busy after 5:30p.m with the stalls being put up along the streets on one side of the food court. The only bus serving Kampung Melayu is no.204. Alternatively, take a 5 minute walk to Jalan Thean Teik, to catch no 202, no.203, or the free bus CT 1B. The last named will take you as far the bus stop after the State Mosque intersection, from where one can board buses downtown to Komtar, the Jetty, and Gurney Drive,
