We came at a time where there were no tourists so it was easy to find a spot to sit. But the food was overall disappointing with a more detailed breakdown below - chicken hor fun: have had much smoother hor fun in Ipoh. And the soup was tasting like gamey innards, so not my favorite - char kuey teow: slightly more wet version. Still prefer the drier kind which has more dried charred bits. But overall wasn't too bad, though not my preferred type of ckt - wanton mee: took one look at it and knew it would taste bad. And it did - curry fishballs, popiah, cheong fun, egg custard were all great but not mind blowing I can't say I ever want to come back..

Badly Overpriced due to tourism attraction area Not many seats available Food are below average compared with Ipoh food standard Coffee very light instead of thick texture. Taugeh is very salty but freshly. Spoiled mood and experience with poorly made food. Poor food quality. Hard to get seats and parking. Overrated kopitiam. One star for standard portion.

The place though chaotic does serve really good food. The popiah was juicy, and the sauce on top wasn't overly sweet as some other shops could be. The shredded chicken prawn flat rice noodles was really good, ordered a side of chicken innards to go with it. The broth was flavourful with prawn essence and the chicken was succulent and smooth, just what you need to look out for in chinese style poached chicken. To me the highlight was the egg custard. The slightly burnt caramel on top, with the smooth eggy pudding beneath was really complementary of one another. The white coffee(not pictured) is also something to order when in Ipoh as, Ipoh is the birth place of white coffee.

Best enjoyed on a rainy day, a hot delicious chicken-prawn broth soup that satisfies the soul. Only get a bowl when the old uncle makes it. Carefully cooked to perfection, especially the chicken broth that is just deep, flavorful and soulful. This uncle is the only reason I will keep coming back for more! Tip: Order a 2x small bowl instead of 1x big if you’re hungry.

Perennially crowded, you'll need a little patience to get a table within. Once seated you're allowed to make orders from the shop nextdoor as well for added variety. The star of the show here is of course their herbal egg tea and caramel custard. A favourite since my childhood. Fabulous.

The main reason to visit this coffeeshop is the chicken & prawn Koay Teow. Yes, it's yummy. The sweetness of the broth can't compare to any similar that I have tried. It's worth the wait for seats though. In rating is 9/10 While waiting, I ordered the satay. It's a bit salty I would say to my liking. In rating is 6/10 Also tried the beef soup noodles, nothing much to comment on this. Ratings are based on individual taste buds.

Weekday visit just after lunch hours. Fairly busy but only waited a minute or two for a table. Egg custard excellent; chicken ho fun very good. Price is fair for the quality. Old-school environment: hot, busy, exciting, constant movement. Good for a quick bite and nostalgia. Not the place for a slower catchup or meal.
