Queue is not as long as it's neighbor (char kuey teow and few other stalls), an attentive uncle goes around tables collect orders too. The dessert was nice and chilled, good to cool off body especially after a full day out under the hot sun.

Dessert are prepared the traditional way using charcoal, so the dessert has the charcoal fragrance. I only had the red bean and felt that there are many other stalls (e.g. 2 stalls at Perak Road, Tye Sin Street) which are better. The soup is too watery and doesn't have the usual red bean taste. The stall is operated by the 4th generation since 1933 though, so it's worth visiting and trying out the other desserts.

The various traditional tong sui sold here are among the more famous and popular ones in Penang. The quality has been consistent and ingredients have remained the same. I especially like their signature dessert with white fungus. You can choose hot or wth ice cubes. I prefer hot so that the ice cubes will not dilute the taste of the soup. The peanut soup is also very nice with tje peanuts cooked until soft and melt in the mouth. They only operate in the evening starting around 6.00 pm. Can be crowded around dinner time. You can order other street foods from outside the shop like char koay teow, koay chiap and so forth as long as you also order their dessrts. Highly recommended!

You must be kidding me. The red bean is not even cooked long enough to make it blended. There are always much more shop nicer out there.

Almond dessert fails miserably with a bitter after taste, showing the lack of dilligence in sorting out bitter almonds from the grinding. At RM4 higher priced than Pudu KL dessert stall, such shoddy cooking should have shuttered this stall before its bitter ending.

The tong shui taste is good. Slightly overpriced. Can order food from other stalls to eat here.

Taste: 3/5 ⭐ | Service: 4/5 ⭐ | Ambience: 4/5 ⭐ Price: RM6 Had the Si Koh Soup. Tasted quite normal, not too sweet, but had a lot of ingredients in it. There was another aunty there selling ba zhang. We had the Nyonya zhang which was not bad too. Best item of the visit: NA Will we return: No Follow us on Instagram @mealtimeagain
