I wished I could find an email I could write directly to give you a private feedback, but I couldn't.
Was so looking forward to the afternoon tea given that we just returned from overseas. Made a reservation for afternoon tea. Upon arrival, reservation didn't exist.
The 3 tier tray was really unacceptable for a Ritz Carlton standard, IMO. Scones tasted like a botched cake. It didn't smell buttery nor crumbly (like how I had really good impression before). Clotted cream were like hard butter!
The mini gingerbread house was stale and soft. Gingerbread ought to be brittle not soft like stale biscuit. We asked the staff to take the it to check if the gingerbread was meant to be a decoration or to be eaten. The ginger bread house pieces were returned to us and we were told that it was for decorations and to be eaten and that how it should be.
We asked who gave the reply and the staff said it was the manager provided the reply. Then we invited the manager to taste the gingerbread if that was acceptable. The manager then sent it back to the kitchen to ascertain whatever that was to be ascertained. We were offered a gingerbread replacement after we gave the feedback. We declined as it wouldn't have been any different.
It wasnโt that we were difficult customers. The mere fact is a stale gingerbread is a stale gingerbread and no matter how the narrative is spun, itโs still a stale gingerbread. Our gripe is if the customer says validly something is wrong, apologise and take it back to the kitchen, do a quick service recovery and NEVER send it back to the customer and imply the customer is an idiot and wrong.
The Afternoon tea service closes at 6pm. Within 15 mins of our complaint, we were served the full bill at 5.30pm. My immediate thought was, we were just being asked to leave and we were not welcomed. Is this the Ritz Carlton standard to ask for payment before the customer asked for the bill before the actual restaurant closing?
Deemed that after we paid the bill, the manager came and offered us to take away some pieces of cakes as service recovery. It was seriously too late. The damage was already done when we were given back the gingerbread and implied that we were idiots that do not know what a gingerbread wasโฆ
The conclusion is that, thereโs no quality control in the kitchen and no clear service recovery procedures. And the customer left disappointed.

โ โ โ โ โ Went there for hi tea with a friend. Love the ambiance. Staff are courteous and friendly. But the food didnโt make sense. The amount is more than enough. But they should put each type of food in pairs, since itโs for 2 person. Unless they expect us to cut each into half or โone two somingโ to decide who gets what.

The atmosphere is great the music is fabulous but the tea is not that much.
However, and most importantly, is the staff. The only thing that makes me happy or wants to come back is the staff's attitude and their ability to make the customers happy with their experience and they perfectly achieved that ??

However, some of the handcrafted desserts are too sweet. Hope can adjust the sweetness. The scones are superb. Love it!

โ โ โ โ โ Service is here really good and ambience is cosy. Nice place for family/ girlfriends/ couples to take photos. Afternoon tea set is quite consistent in taste and quality. Prefer the savouries over the sweets. And also prefer the non-themed sets (I donโt usually like the festive/ seasonal sets). Tea selection is extensive - black leaf teas, fruit teas and more
