Food is great! Especially roasted meats! Their meats came all the way from Ipoh Walao! But pricing at middle upper range. If you’re concerned about physical distancing please opt for outdoor seats because indoor is truly PACKED PACKED PACKED!

Decided to give this restaurant a try. Ordered the signature dry curry noodles with char siew and substituted the yellow mee with bee hoon. The char siew was delicious, smokey, sweet and flavourful. The curry was good too. But the meal didn't sit well with me. My big problem with this dish is that all you get is a lump of noodles and the char siew. See picture attached. Good as it is, for RM25.80, you would expect just a little more. Maybe veggies or a soup of some sort, would be good. Very disappointing. You can sell premium curry noodles but it has to have premium elements and noodles soaked in curry just doesn't cut it. Probably won't be back.

Extensive menu to feed any appetite with many ingredients transported directly from Ipoh. Went for the house speciality char siew wonton noodles… and was so quite impressed. The noodles were so springy and paired perfectly with the caramelised char siew that was so tender and came with the charred bit that I love so much. The fried pork lard adds a pop of flavour if u dare chomp it down! We also ordered a side of taugeh (mung bean sprout) from Ipoh… and it’s true, taugeh from Ipoh is plumper and juicier! When you do dine her, the char siew is a must try!

Char siew reli fatty and melt in your mouth. But too fat for my liking. The paku vege is appetizing. Prawn paste chicken is crispy but can be more flavorful. Lunch crowd is crazy.

Quaintly named chinese restaurant. Ordered their signature moonlight hor fun, char siew rice, egg with ginger soup and paku vege with shrimp. The hor fun was excellent in my opinion, full of "wok hei". Next up is their rice, the char siew was one of the better ones i have tasted with the right amount of fat n lean meat. You can almost feel it melting in your mouth ?. The paku vege is a really good starter dish for its fresh n refreshing taste The cruchiness from the shrimp add another layer of taste to the dish. The soup was bland with hardly any oomp. Portion ok but prices are on the high side.

Type:Β Chinese Restaurant Signature:Β Ipoh Street Food Visited The Museum @Starling Mall and being an Ipohrian, it's easier for me to compare the food served here vs the Original Ipoh store which is located in Greentown. Firstly, the place is famous for its Towing Char Siew 5 ? which is those fat and thick charsiew that's BBQed to perfection. Tried the HK style wantan mee with Towing Char Siew 3.5 ? which I feel was a tad too sweet. The mee was ok and very HK style (chewy and narrower in dimension) but like I said.. Was too sweet for my liking. Also tried the Yuet Kwong Hor 4 ? (which comes with a raw egg right at the Centre) which is quite tasty. However compared to the grandmaster Tuck Kee for the same food.. They pale in comparison. Anyway since this is my first visit, will leave my comments for another day. Will definitely come back to try other interesting Ipoh favourites like Curry Mee or Hakka Mee. Usually packed during lunch hour and since after 1stnof April, they are operating in full capacity, which means more tables and chairs being placed. Their signature towing char siew is a must try. If you're a fan of lamb, do try their Lamb stew. Overall food is good and short waiting time despite the crowd. Friendly service by the crew as well. Once you're done with your meal, do wrap up with a cup of signature milk tea.

Much touted cafe with modern nostalgic decor that shouts out louder than its humble street food offerings. Lower your expectations despite the ambience and high prices that this cooking is anywhere near Michelin star standards. Their star attraction Char Siew (RM48) was a dry disappointment, while the meat had the necessary layers, it was poorly caramelised and unlikely to have originated from an Apollo oven. The request for its jus confirmed the lack of seasoning of this piece of barbeque. No melt in your mouth feel, as the cold loin protested obstinately of its poor marinade treatment. A sigh of relief by the Charsiew chefs at the Kitchen and Overseas Restaurants that they have kept their barbeque secrets safe. One possibility demonstrated by the standards of the other dishes served such as braised luffa & black fungus, fuyu lettuce, black pomfret, sweet & sour pork ribs, caramelised prawns that the chef has retired post pandemic. The quality is adequately maintained at Ipoh street level hawker noodles, incongrous to its surroundings.
