Bad service at the front cashier! My mom and I were waiting patiently for our turn to make the payment, we looking at the number from 0353 then after that become 0355. Our number is 0354. They skipped our number. After that the screen shows the number of 0345, is not 0354. We feeling weird so we asked the number 17 indian staff cashier, she said we din notice the number and the number has pass. We told them our number is 0354, but the screen din show the number. The staff denied and said the number is already shown. The screen list is all there, there is no number for 0354! There is the evidence there but the staff still denied! The staff is very rude and unfriendly. As a customer service, is it the right for a staff to speak rudely like this? We din argue with them but they treat us like so rude.

Best hospital in Penang. Good facilities and medical equipment; smart and caring doctors and faculty; safe, clean and comforting environment; and a wonderful cafeteria that stocks heathy, wholesome food plus their in-demand cinnamon rolls.

Bad hospital, pay lot of money with out any benifit, very slow processing from nursing, and they dont care, they looking for your money, don't loose your time, For a simple endoscopy test that normally takes 10 mins in any hospital, we stayed in the hospital for 8 hours!!!! .. absolutely disappointing.

Good experience in Penang. Came for Swab test at emergency unit. Of course you have to make the call earlier for an appointment. They clearly explain everything over the call. You decide then you walk-in. The staff at emergency very polite and informative. Recommend this place!!!

If you are seeking any treatment from Adventist, please never go to Dr Lim Hooi Leng and Dr Tan Chiang Soo. My dad was admitted to Adventist on 11/3/22 and passed away on 6/4/22 under these two doctors. Initially my dad went to Adventist A&E on 11/3 and Dr Lim was recommended by the A&E nurse, to which we agreed because we didnt know any specialists there. Dr Lim kept telling us that my dad's condition was a mystery, prior to his admission, he had symptoms like loss of appetite, weight loss, chills, night sweats, lethargy, shortness of breath etc. Up till 15/3, Dr Lim still claimed that my dad's condition was a mystery and sought Dr Tan's opinion. After undergoing an echocardiography, my dad told us that Dr Tan claimed that my dad's heart was clear and he has a strong heart. But on 18/3, my dad was transferred from a normal ward to icu due to irregular heart rate and on the same day, Dr Lim told us that my dad has histoplasmosis(a rare fungal infection) and that they suspect my dad has atherosclerosis. (This came as a surprise as it was contradicting the previous echocardiography results and my dad never had any hypercholesterolemia or hypertriglyseridemia-the last blood test done before admission into Adventist was just in January). On 20/3 Dr Lim called us twice, once at noon and another time in the evening, on both occasions Dr Lim claimed my dad was getting better and over the evening call, she suggested my dad be transferred to penang GH. That was when all my suspicion started because like seriously, who in the right mind would transfer a patient from icu to a public hospital? Her reason for transferring my dad was that penang GH has a centre for infectious desease and to help us cut cost. But when i talked to my dad over the phone on that same night (Adventist is very strict with visiting, most of the time no visitors are allowed due to covid), i was shocked to find my dad panting for breath to finish a sentence, which was in contrary to what Dr Lim claimed (that my dad was getting better). We didnt agree on the transfer and my dad stayed put in Adventist but from then on, my dad 's condition just deteriorate till the point that he was put on the ventilator and sedated. On 3/4, Dr Teh Aik Seng did another echocardiography on my dad because Dr Tan was on leave and found that my dad had infective endocarditis, a bacterial infection of the heart valve causing leakage. I wondered why and how on earth did Dr Tan missed that when he did the echo on my dad on 15/3. Did he purposely overlook that? Or is he that incompetent to underdiagnose? Since then, Dr Lim kept hinting us that my dad's case was hopeless and pushing us to bring my dad home which we finally did on 6/4. To Dr Lim Hooi Leng and Dr Tan Chiang Soo, if you happen to read this, i want you to know that God is watching you and He knows what you are up to, you might get away with 'murder' this time, but you wont be that lucky all the time. One day the truth will be uncovered and you will have to bear the consequences.

Judgement based on most weak point. See pros in the end. Emergency case, appendicitis - arrived 7.30am Sunday > surgery at 8pm waiting for specialist: 7.30am>12.40am , though preliminary CT scan were made, ~9.30am( +2h since arrival . So it's 5hr since arrival, handling emergency case. Had a 3 min talk with the doctor, who immediately advised surgery, not really convincing, once somebody was talking with you in a hectic manner). No definitive explanation was given not on surgery alternatives nor on what are the indications for surgery. All questions was raised by myself, no initiative from hospital side. Requested ER nurses to get another doctor to check CT scans for second opinion(meanwhile, according to nurses, 1st doctor had to be notified), didn't meet the second doctor(the nurse claimed he has same opinion on CT scans). Taking in consideration the notification of the first doctor - hard to say if studying was ever made, or "opinions" were automatically aligned. Anyway, I made a decision to proceed with surgery and explained hospital representative payment will be handled by international insurance, where I started to see much of a resistance from hospital staff, who claimed the deposit must be made by me anyway and they didn't have such experience(taking into consideration a lot of foreign patients?). At 1.50pm I passed to hospital staff form from insurance had to be filled about scope of treatment and price claimed(this part wasn't provided by hospital, why, how is the deposit amount was calculated then?). Again, I faced resistance from nurses, admission counter, hospital representative, billing department. All tried to convince me otherwise, instead of simply filling the form, all other communications I intended to manage myself, including 3PA company, it was communicated clearly to them. Summarizing this part - instead of prompt handling for filling the request for insurance it was spent more than hour just for talking, I got call from billing department, representative tried to convince me there were no such cases with coverage by insurance). At 3.10pm I finally got this form filled(with missing information about patient, price of treatment, which again - slowed processing by insurance), that clear fault lead to delayed approval at ~6pm(3PA had to call hospital for missing information), meanwhile constantly chased by hospital staff to pay deposit and about urgency of surgery. Meanwhile I was advised to move to government hospital nearby(I assume to cover up own faults with slow processing of case and "moneys matter" thing?) One more, from admission counter I got information billing department is closed 1pm onwards on Sunday, with no people able to handle billing matters with insurance, which makes me thinking what's ER for(somehow handled afterwards, after I requested directly hospital person in charge to highlight the situation). Anyway, after the guarantee of payment was received from insurance at 6pm, surgery was performed at 8pm(why? After all the claims it should be performed immediately, although no indication from the doctor). Another thing, after discharging from hospital - why the no practice of providing written guidance(indications/contraindications after surgery)? All that is supposed to be memorised by the patient or to avoid responsibility after surgery? Pros of hospital: As usual in every hospital, some doctors there are good, some bad, overall patient handling for consultation is ok(have online booking, works quite well). Bakery and vegetarian food are good and have places to handle infants for mothers. Cons: Emergency cases involving surgery and insurance coverage are strongly not advised. Billing/insurance department is a huge disappointment for a hospital handling international patients. If the hospital is interested, I can share more details for them to improve, as it will be beneficial for everyone.

Slow respond on the medication pick up. This was my 3rd times waiting for more 45minutes for the medication readiness. After attending to the medications counter, the pharmacist had requested me to wait again as the medicines were pending for verification. So the medication collection lead time was longer than the doctor consultantion hours. The exit traffic was blocked the food delivery transport. The food delivery was picked up by the Adventist staff. The worst thing , the car parked in the opposite direction. Even they were aware the cars queueing, the food delivery still took her sweet time to give way. Appreciate if advertist management will look into this.

Terrible! Doctor don’t even mind to follow appointment time! appointment fixed at 10am however Dental doc not even reach clinic till 11am! What’s the point of appointment when you’re not going to follow it. Their staffs did a very good job on reminding patient of the appointment time, perhaps should’ve do the same for their doctors! Supposed to have a time saving appointment becoming wasting of time!
