What's Omakase means? It means "I Entrust You - The Chef" Went here for a birthday celebration for pax of 5. There is only 3 sets of menu to select from Azabu, Koi and Omakase. We all had different sets to experience the differences and according to the AUTUMN THEME. Overall, I would say only few dishes sparks my sensation and taste butt. Such as the hotate explode in my mouth which they spice up w salt and yuzu. The restaurant is very kind to include one cheese cake to us as a friend of mine birthday. SUPERB CHEESECAKE which you can get it next door at Restaurant Tokyo P/S: The sushi rice kept falling apart.

The omakase experience was just okay. There wasn't really anything unique or original about the whole experience - just an ordinary selection of the usual appetizers, standard nigiri, chawan mushi, fried dish, miso soup and dessert. The ambience is also very ordinary. Service was very good. All in all it was kind of unmemorable... I want to be clear though, that the food is not bad at all. But japanese omakase in Kuala Lumpur has gotten a lot more competitive in the past few years. And unfortunately, sushi azabu is no longer on par with other restaurants that price within a similar range like sushi Hara or sushi Ori (yes they are maybe 100 ringgit more but if you're already forking out RM490 per pax, then pay another 100 for an omakase that's more outstanding la).

If you are looking to have a great evening and dining experience, I would highly recommend Sushi Azabu. Especially if you are looking to celebrate an occasion. We ordered their Omakase set for dinner this time around. While it was definitely on the pricier side, you get what you paid for. In this case, quality sushi and other selected dishes prepared on the spot. If you have a choice, always go for the counter seats. You get a show and a dinner. So do book and plan your reservations ahead of time if possible as their counter seats are very limited and can accommodate roughly 10 pax max at any given time.

My boyfriend and I had their omakase dinner to celebrate our anniversary. While the food is definitely on the pricier side, if you are looking to celebrate a special occasion or for very authentic Japanese food, I wholeheartedly recommend Sushi Azabu. Each course was both visually pleasing and delicious and they took care to explain what every item on the plate was, as well as to explain the Sake pairing rationale (which again, if youโ€™re looking to treat yourself - is a good idea!). The service was incredible and the restaurant setting is small and intimate, perfect for couples or small groups. I canโ€™t wait to return!

Went for lunch on a weekday and had the azabu set. Do go earlier and try to get a seat at the counter, it will add so much more to the experience being served dish by dish, compared to being seated at a regular table and the chef plates several nigiris together before it's served to you. The seafood tastes extremely fresh and service is great. There are several nigiris that are extremely memorable. Not a lot of alcohol options on the menu but the sake pairing is quite good. Booking can be done via WhatsApp.

The taste of sushi is fresh and good, but the place is cramped and table are arranged near to each other so you can hear the conversation from those beside your table easily. If you are unlucky and seat near the counter (and if those who seat at the counter are having a birthday celebration or such, it'll going to be noisy. For hot green tea, maybe because same tea leaves is being used repeatedly.. Somehow ใŠ่Œถใฏ้ฉๅฝ“ใซๅ…ฅใ‚Œใ‚‹ๆ„Ÿใ˜ใŒใ—ใพใ™ใ€‚Ginger Ale is recommended. Overall a good experience, but a little bit on a pricy side.

Stand out: - Chef was friendly and brought out 3 bottles of sake to let us try before we decide which bottle to order - Chef brought out small dishes throughout the omakase course to pair it with our sake (i.e fremented fish intestines) at no extra costs Food: - Fresh sushi. The 3 types of uni was different from the usual omakase - The sushi rice was perfectly seasoned and the portion was just right with each piece of sushi

Went for their lunch sushi set. Considering the taste, price and location (middle of kl) this place is excellent. Suitable for business meetings and dining with small groups. The place is small but again Tokyo places are generally small. One special recommendation would be the Azabu Sake. That is really good for the price point and should be a must have.
